All of\u00a0this will be achieved through several operations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interoperable, seamless and harmonized 5G C-V2X &amp; ITS G5 communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artificial intelligence-enabled MEC and cloud services<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In and out vehicle data exchange, cybersecurity and privacy challenges<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Effective use of IoT services in urban and non-urban areas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mobility as a service business model and operation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the mobility activities that the i2CAT Foundation is working on, there are <strong>two<\/strong> essential examples.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">i2CAT is the technical manager of <a href=\"https:\/\/i2cat.net\/5gmed-the-future-of-mobility-in-the-mediterranean-cross-border-corridor\/?lang=ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5GMed<\/a>, an <strong>H2020 project<\/strong> that brings together key stakeholders of the \u201cBarcelona \u2013 Perpignan\u201d cross-border section of the Mediterranean corridor including MNOs, road and rail operators and neutral hosts, complemented with innovative SMEs developing AI functions, and selected R&amp;D centers with a proven track record in 5G R&amp;I. 5GMed ambitions to become the lighthouse project for CCAM and FRMCS deployment in cross-border scenarios that can be replicated across Europe and trigger further investments through the CEF2 program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The center also acts as the technical manager of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the EU-funded <a href=\"https:\/\/i2cat.net\/projectes\/caramel\/?lang=ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CARAMEL<\/a> project<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Car safety has come a long way. From the first padded dashboard to seat belts and from rear-view cameras to active safety measures such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), technological advances are picking up speed. Nowadays, cars are becoming smarter and \u201cgreener\u201d through connectivity and artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity is emerging as a new concern able to stop such huge potential for more sustainable safer roads with zero fatality. CARAMEL is developing cybersecurity solutions for the new generation of cars: <strong>autonomous cars<\/strong>, <strong>5G connected vehicles<\/strong>, and <strong>electromobility<\/strong>. The project applies a proactive method based on artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to mitigate cybersecurity-originated safety risks on roads.
