The ImAc project, coordinated by i2CAT, has created an accessible player for immersive content which enables more people than ever to enjoy 360 degree videos with 3D sound. Users with sight loss can turn on audio description and spoken subtitles (for foreign language content) whilst users with hearing loss can make use of subtitles or sign language. This can all be accessed through a high contrast menu system on a VR headset, tablet, smartphone or via a PC or laptop.
The open pilot is running in Catalan, English and German. You’ll be asked to confirm that you’re happy for the player to collect information about how you use it and we hope you will also fill out a short questionnaire about the experience.
ImAc is a European project involving partners from the UK, France, Germany and Spain and has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 761974. The ImAc partners are i2CAT, UAB, CCMA Anglatècnic, RBB, Motion Spell, IRT, University of Salford and RNIB.
