The i2CAT Foundation participates in this cooperation project on tourism gamification
The MED GAIMS project brings together partners from Lebanon, Spain, Italy and Jordan to develop games in physical and virtual format in order to create experiences for tourists, giving a necessary competitive edge to the attractiveness of less-known sites. The project seeks to increase tourism flows by covering all niches and segments, such as off-season travellers, as well as creating job opportunities and start-ups for game entrepreneurs. Eventually, 40 games will be selected and implemented in 12 tourism sites from 8 destinations.
On Wednesday, November 27th, the project will hold its first technical seminar on Experiential Tourism in Neàpolis (Vilanova i la Geltrú). Experts in tourism gamification will give a technical training seminar and workshop sharing with participants their expertise on creating memorable experiences in the context of tourism. A number of tools and materials will be provided to support current and future game entrepreneurs. Participants will have an engaging experience with experts while learning about MED GAIMS funding opportunities in the local tourism gamification eco-system.
