The i2CAT Foundation, the Catalan Water Agency, and the Ministry for Digital Policy and Public Administration celebrated today the Finale of the 7h edition of the SmartCatalonia Challenge

An early warning system to detect pollutants proposed by Amphos21 has won the Challenge and a pilot test with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA)

The Grand Finale of the SmartCatalonia Challenge with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has been celebrated today on an online act where the ten finalists exposed their proposals and how they answered the four challenges proposed last October for this edition.

The Grand Finale of the SmartCatalonia Challenge with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has been celebrated today on an online act where the ten finalists exposed their proposals and how they answered the four challenges proposed last October for this edition. 

The proposals selected as the winner are: 

• 1st prize of €15.000+pilot test: Amphos21. The project consists of an Early Warning to detect pollutants in water systems. The solution is based on “Machine Learning” technology to identify pollution episodes on groundwater and superficial water. 
• 2nd prize of €5.000: Arantec. A solution focused on hydro-monitoring with smart sensors, wireless communications, and a “cloud” platform. This project uses products developed by the company to offer a complete solution with low running costs. 
• 3rd prize of €3.000: Hyds. The Project provides an Exchange framework for water concessions regarding crops needs and the availability of water in real-time. The technological solution is based on an app that integrates information already existing and the results of the irrigators.
