Once again, the i2CAT Foundation will be present with a stand at the IoT Solutions World Congress fair to show how close collaboration with the private sector is essential to develop innovative and tailor-made solutions to solve complex challenges.

The technological research center has been helping companies and organizations to innovate and look to the future since 2003. In this edition, i2CAT presents a challenge with the Catalan company Showee, a startup born with talent trained in Catalonia, and i2CAT gives a qualitative leap to the company’s base technology in an emerging field, such as voice assistants applied to the IoT

i2CAT's cybersecurity engineer Abel Pozo will demonstrate live how threat actors can get all kinds of information from a user with just the email, and even more by adding more information about it. Using the infohound tool developed in-house, he will go over the common techniques which exploit multiple OSINT sources during the reconnaissance phase of an attack, focusing on social engineering attacks. Participants will be able to try out the tool and see what information is publicly available about them and discuss how attackers might use this information to craft high interaction attacks

BeGREEN

BeGREEN (Beyond 5G Artificial Intelligence Assisted Energy Efficient Open Radio Access Network), will take a holistic view to propose evolving radio networks that not only accommodate increasing traffic and services but also consider power consumption as a factor. The project’s focus will be towards an energy-efficient sustainable network architecture. This network architecture should be optimized for energy efficiency and should offer corresponding services to the industry verticals to maximize the “enabling effect”.

ORIGAMI

The ORIGAMI project, funded by the European Commission as part of the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), brings together leading players from industry and academia in the mobile telco ecosystem in Europe. During the 2023-2025 time frame, the ORIGAMI consortium will work towards advancing the architectural models of next-generation mobile networks and removing important barriers towards successful 6G technologies. One of the novel applications to achieve this goal will be RIS.

INSTINCT

The INSTINCT project, funded by the European Commission as part of the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), will deliver the waveforms, protocols, and hardware design of an innovative beyond communications system architecture, combining the benefits of Wireless Sensing, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

FORGING

Forum for Emerging Enabling Technologies in Support to the Digital and Green Transitions through Value Sensitive Innovations.

SUNRISE-6G

The project’s approach is inspired by the “network of networks” concept of 6G Networks, seeking to integrate all private and public infrastructures under a massively scalable internet-like architecture. X-Gain

XGain fosters a sustainable, balanced, and inclusive development of rural, coastal, and urban areas by facilitating access to relevant stakeholders, such as municipalities, policymakers, farmers, foresters, and their associations, to a comprehensive inventory of smart XG, last-mile connectivity and edge computing solutions, and of related assessment methods.

CUSTODES

It will develop and implement an innovative, configurable, user-friendly, and cost-effective Composite Inspection and Certification (CIC) System to facilitate the cybersecurity certification of European products and services.

COGNIFOG

COGNIFOG will provide a software solution as a Cognitive Fog Framework (Cognitive-Fog) for monitoring and analyzing data flows along the IoT-edge-cloud continuum, enabling the processing of data closer to its source, and providing real-time responses for many smart IoT applications.

iTrust6G

iTrust6G will propose novel concepts and solutions to achieve a unified and intelligent security architecture for distributed network and cloud domains, capable of addressing advanced 6G use cases and applications by integrating required architectural enablers for flexible, yet cost-efficient, deployment in 6G networks.

DIDYMOS

Didymos focuses on advancing enabling technologies for creating large-scale digital twins synchronized in real-time with the real world

XReco

XReco will create a new data-driven ecosystem for the media industry, focusing on facilitating data sharing, search and discovery and supporting creation of news and entertainment content. The focus will be on creating and (re-)use of location-related 2D and 3D assets and creating XR experiences.

PRESENCE

PRESENCE is a toolset for hyper-realistic XR-based human-human and human-machine interactions.

Cybersecurity

The SECANT platform will enhance the capabilities of organizations’ stakeholders, implementing (a) collaborative threat intelligence collection, analysis, and sharing; (b) innovative risk analysis specifically designed for interconnected nodes of an industrial ecosystem; (c) cutting-edge trust and accountability mechanisms for data protection and (d) security awareness training for more informed security choices.
