i2CAT and Sateliot have been awarded the National Prize for Public-Private Partnership in R&I 2024 by the Government of Catalonia and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI). This morning’s announcement was made at a press conference by the Catalan Minister of Research and Universities, Núria Montserrat.
The award is part of the 2024 National Research Awards. It recognises the joint work of i2CAT and Sateliot to position Catalonia in the new space economy, leading to milestones such as the launch of the Enxaneta, Menut and Minairó nanosatellites, which have contributed to improving the global connectivity of the Internet of Things (IoT).
For i2CAT, it is an honour to share this award with a pioneering company like Sateliot, with whom the centre has maintained a fruitful collaboration for years.

The professor of Psychology at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Núria Sebastián, has obtained the 2024 National Research Award for her pioneering work in cognitive neuroscience research, specifically in studying bilingualism from a mental and cerebral perspective.
The jury of the 2024 awards was presided over by Núria Montserrat Pulido, Minister of Research and Universities and president of FCRI. Its members were prominent figures from institutions like the Government of Catalonia, Sincrotró Alba, CSIC-UPC, Universidade de Lisboa or UPF – Integra Therapeutics.
