The SECANT platform will enhance the capabilities of organizations’ stakeholders, implementing (a) collaborative threat intelligence collection, analysis, and sharing; (b) innovative risk analysis specifically designed for interconnected nodes of an industrial ecosystem; (c) cutting-edge trust and accountability mechanisms for data protection and (d) security awareness training for more informed security choices. The proposed solution’s effectiveness and versatility will be validated in four realistic pilot use case scenarios applied in the healthcare ecosystem. Ultimately, SECANT will contribute decisively towards improving the readiness and resilience of the organizations against the crippling modern cyber-threats, increasing the privacy, data protection, and accountability across the entire interconnected ICT ecosystem, and reducing the costs for security training in the European market.
Although effectively assessing the risks and building a strong cyber security strategy may be sufficient in other sectors, in the healthcare supply chain, trust is harder to be gained for a variety of reasons; (i) patients are always reluctant to hand personal information, whilst all patient-related products and services rely heavily on personal and private information, (ii) healthcare organization, by nature, operate on a variety of data points on individuals, which makes them extremely vulnerable to data theft, cyber fraud or even espionage, and (iii) adopting a combination of ICT technologies means also adopting a combination of new or unknown cyber threats. All the above, create the need for healthcare organizations to be able to certify their critical infrastructures, products, and service across the supply chain, exposing this kind of information in order to enjoy greater levels of trust among its customers
