The i2CAT Foundation has participated as a prominent partner in the New Space Economy Congress (October 1 and 2), the principal meeting of the Catalan aerospace ecosystem, and in a new edition of the Barcelona New Economy Week (7- October 10), which this year inaugurated the Aviation vertical.
During the New Space Economy Congress, organised by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, i2CAT was in the exhibitor area, where it presented its value proposition and made meaningful connections with colleagues from the space ecosystem and other sectors.
The head of Space – Innovation and Business at i2CAT, Clàudia Mateo, moderated a conversation about the possibilities of satellite constellations with prominent organisations in the ecosystem, such as Hispasat, Indra, Rivada Space Networks and Sateliot.
During BNEW, i2CAT moderated two sessions that demonstrated the relevance of the aerospace sector in Catalonia. The first, with the participation of the centre’s director, Sergi Figuerola, gathered representatives from Ellas Vuelan Alto, the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aerea (AESA), Airbus, and the New Space Strategy of the Generalitat de Catalunya to discuss the role of women in the development of the aerospace sector. You can watch the whole session on BNEW’s YouTube channel.
In the second session, Clàudia Mateo moderated a fascinating panel discussion on the industrial revolution of New Space with representatives of Albora Technologies, Spascat Technologies, Factual, and EarthPulse. You can watch the whole session on BNEW’s YouTube channel.
