The Government of Catalonia expands its collaboration with the i2CAT Foundation to develop technical solutions and improve digital public services

The Government has approved an addendum to the contract program with the center to boost collaboration regarding research and innovation applied to advanced digital technologies that contribute to the digital transformation of the Administration.

It is expected that the collaboration and coordination arose allow specific actions focused on designing, developing, and validating new technical and innovative solutions that can improve and increase digital services to citizenship and companies in Catalonia.

As a research center, the i2CAT Foundation has the CERCA recognition, which implies an activities’ planning founded on a multiannual program, based on a strategic plan, with subsequent monitoring of the scientific and economic activity, and subject to the principle of transparency and accountability.

This addendum aims to complement the already existing i2CAT program with research and innovation activities specifically addressed to the digital transformation of the Government and its public sector, like the design and development of new technological solutions for the improvement of digital public services.

The Agreement for the 2020-2023 period stands at a total of €9.400.000.
