The increase in traffic, the reduction of environmental impact and the optimization of road safety are the three main challenges that future mobility will face. This decade will be crucial for the future of roads, not only for the new infrastructures, but also because digitalization and artificial intelligence will play a decisive role in the future mobility of our roads. Connected cars and the rise of the autonomous vehicle, artificial intelligence, 5G, Big Data… will mark a before and after in aspects such as safety behind the wheel or the comfort of travelling.
