The i2CAT Foundation will be present at a new edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress, which will take place at Fira Gran Via on November 15th-17th, to demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence technologies and vehicular communications will enable more intelligent and sustainable urban mobility.
The public organisations and companies attending the congress will have the opportunity to discover several projects based on innovative technologies that will help to develop road prevention actions, to reduce emissions, or to optimise traffic flows on urban and interurban roads.
The i2CAT Foundation counts on extensive expertise in autonomous and connected mobility. Along these lines, at SCEWC, you will be able to learn about the solutions developed to help companies in the IT sector deploy V2X applications (vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure communication) that are fully adaptable and suitable for proof of concept in real environments.
Artificial Intelligence to detect traffic risks
Within an initiative of the Center of Innovation for Data tech and Artificial Intelligence (CIDAI), the i2CAT Foundation has led the development of a system for detecting risks and traffic flows on urban and interurban roads based on artificial intelligence and big data. The research has been aimed, on the one hand, at the proactive prevention of traffic accidents by identifying situations of risk and, on the other hand, at analysing traffic flows to detect anomalous behavior and reduce traffic jams. The Center for Telecommunications and Information Technologies (CTTI), Eurecat and Microsoft collaborated on this project.
Security and privacy in a connected environment
Within the European project CARAMEL (Artificial Intelligence-based cybersecurity for connected and automated vehicles), framed in the Horizon 2020 call and which has just presented its conclusions, the i2CAT Foundation has led the implementation of a system of vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure communication protocols (V2X) with the primary objective of detecting and mitigating attacks that an autonomous vehicle may receive and that may compromise its security.

La Fundació i2CAT participa en una nova edició del congrés Smart City Expo World Congress, que tindrà lloc a la Fira Gran Via del 15 al 17 de novembre, per per mostrar com les tecnologies d’intel·ligència artificial i les comunicacions vehiculars (V2X) faran possible un model de mobilitat més intel·ligent i sostenible a les ciutats i ajudaran a millorar la qualitat de vida de les persones.
Les administracions i empreses assistents al congrés tindran l’oportunitat de descobrir diversos projectes basats en tecnologies innovadores que ajudaran a desenvolupar accions de prevenció a la carretera, a reduir les emissions de gasos contaminants, o a optimitzar els fluxos de trànsit en vies urbanes i interurbanes.
La Fundació i2CAT compta també amb una àmplia expertesa en mobilitat autònoma i connectada. En aquesta línia, a l’espai del centre dins de la SCEWC podreu conèixer les solucions desenvolupades per ajudar les empreses del sector IT a desplegar aplicacions V2X (comunicació de vehicle a vehicle i infraestructura) totalment adaptables i aptes per a proves de concepte en entorn real.
Intel·ligència artificial per identificar riscos de trànsit
Dins d’una iniciativa del Centre of Innovation for Data tech and Artificial Intelligence (CIDAI), la Fundació i2CAT ha liderat el desenvolupament d’un sistema de detecció de riscos i fluxos de trànsit en vies urbanes i interurbanes basat en intel·ligència artificial i big data. La recerca, en la que també han col·laborat el Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació (CTTI), Eurecat i de Microsoft, ha estat orientada, per una banda, a la prevenció proactiva d’accidents de trànsit mitjançant la identificació de situacions de risc, i, per l’altra, a l’anàlisi dels fluxos de trànsit per detectar comportaments anòmals i reduir els embussos.
Seguretat i privadesa dels vehicles autònoms
En el marc del projecte de recerca europeu CARAMEL (Ciberseguretat basada en Intel·ligència Artificial per a vehicles connectats i autònoms), la Fundació i2CAT ha liderat la implementació d’un sistema de protocols de comunicació de vehicle a vehicle i infraestructura (V2X) que té per objectiu principal detectar i mitigar els atacs que pot rebre un vehicle autònom i que poden comprometre la seva seguretat.
