Leading the Digital Decade

he starting point of the first day’s debate is the Communication “2030 Digital Compass: the European way for the Digital Decade”. Its vision is simple: everyone in Europe can and should benefit from digital.
The second day will be dedicated to the launch of the Digital Europe Programme, the first financial instrument of the EU for European projects on digital.
Two of the highlights of this event will be the presentation of the Lisbon Declaration, a contribution to the preparation of a proposal from the European Commission for a joint inter-institutional Declaration of Digital Principles, and the inauguration of the EllaLink submarine cable, which will be retransmitted from the cable’s site in Sines, south of Lisbon. This cable will offer high-capacity connectivity on a new route linking major subsea hubs in Europe and Latin America.
