i2CAT coordinates FEM-IoT and is part of two more RIS3CAT groups in emerging technologies

The i2CAT Foundation continues to work in the research and transfer of IoT solutions. In this line of work, the center has been granted the coordination of FEM-IoT, one of the nine projects in emerging technologies that have received funding from RIS3CAT (ERDF). The RIS3CAT program promotes the development of new emerging activities in Catalonia, based on innovative or disruptive technologies or processes.

FEM-IoT aims to promote transfer and research in IoT solutions and to become a laboratory platform for research and innovation in smart city infrastructure elements and all the resulting value-added services. This project also has the participation of the BSC, CTTC, the UPC, the UPF, the UOC, the URV, the CVC, EURECAT, Leitat, IREC, and CIMNE.

Apart from leading this project, i2CAT also participates as a partner in two more projects. The program QuantumCAT, led by ICFO, aims to boost the development of quantum technologies to integrate them into the industry and consolidate the position of Catalonia as a reference in this sector. The consortium includes BSC, UPC, UAB, and ICN2.

Looming Factory, coordinated by UPC, proposes to develop and validate digital technologies for the Industry 4.0. In this program also participate i2CAT, UOC, CIM-UPC, UPF, Leitat, Eurecat, UB, CVC, and CTM.
