Francisco Vazquez Gallego

Francisco Vázquez Gallego, received his B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering (1995), M.Sc. (2000) and PhD (2016) degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).  He has 25 years of experience in wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, and vehicular networks. Since January 2022, he works as Senior Researcher and Head of the V2X Communications Research line at i2CAT. He has participated in 17 research projects financed with European and national competitive funds, and in 11 technology transfer projects. He is the technical coordinator of the European 5GMED project. Francisco has more than 80 publications (23 journal papers, 61 conference papers, and 1 book chapter). His main research activity focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of vehicular networks, digital twins for intelligent traffic management and Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Services.
