Digital Catalonia Alliance

The Digital Catalonia Alliance (DCA) is an initiative promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya through the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Department of Enterprise and Employment and the i2CAT Research Center, which brings together the main advanced digital technology sectors of Catalonia.

The DCA has more than 650 members and seven technological communities: Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, Artificial Intelligence (AI), NewSpace, Cybersecurity, Blockchain and GovTech. Its roadmap includes the promotion of new communities to respond to the need to structure and promote new sectors in the Catalan territory.

The objective of the DCA is to consolidate and accelerate the Catalan digital ecosystem, responding to the needs of the sector and facilitating the adoption of technological changes through services to members such as sectoral dynamism, access to new business and financing opportunities and the promotion of strategic relationships and multi-technology synergies.

i2CAT’s role

Commissioned by the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, i2CAT manages the Digital Catalonia Alliance, orienting its lines of work towards the objectives of the Catalan government and leading key aspects of the initiative such as:

• Technical management of the project and coordination with the different partners and collaborators
• Dynamization and promotion of technological communities
• Design and execution of the communication and dissemination of the project
• Dynamics of new initiatives for sectoral dynamization and technology transfer
• Participation in strategies of the Generalitat de Catalunya such as the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia or the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia – Catalonia.AI
• Writing of strategic plans and improvement plans for the governance and innovation of the project
