Joan Manel Martin

Joan Manel Martin is the Managing Director of the i2CAT Research Centre. His role in strategic direction includes defining and executing the centre’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with CERCA standards and regional digital agendas. He also supports financial sustainability by overseeing the annual budget, P&L, and audit processes, and by securing a mix of competitive public funding, private contracts, and structural grants to ensure economic viability.

Mr Martín acts as the key liaison with the Board of Trustees, government bodies, and key industry partners, and leads i2CAT’s strategic corporate services (Legal, IT, Admin), ensuring strict compliance with Public Sector regulations (including public procurement and transparency) while optimising internal processes to support R&D agility.
