Promoting the presence, visibility, and leadership of women in the ICT and digital sector in Catalonia

TechBcn4Women is an initiative by Tech Barcelona and i2CAT, supported by the Government of Catalonia and funded through the Next Generation EU program. The project aims to promote the active participation and leadership of women in Catalonia’s technology ecosystem, highlighting women-led projects, fostering new ICT vocations, and reducing the gender gap in the digital sector.

In September 2025, the TechBcn4Women Days took place, an intensive series of activities including over ten talks, pitch sessions, and networking events led by entrepreneurs, researchers, and sector professionals. Nearly 50 speakers participated, and all activities were free and open to the public.

i2CAT contributed by integrating two women professionals into the Mobile Wireless Internet research group under a university collaboration agreement. This initiative aims to support early-career female researchers and technologists, increasing their presence and opportunities in the ICT sector.

The project also collaborated with organizations working to reduce the gender gap, including Norrsken, SheBlooms, AFAEMME, and Juno House.
