i2CAT participates in the First Annual Forum of the Observatorio Nacional 5G

Rosa Paradell, Innovation Business Development manager, took part in the roundtable ‘5G in the economic sectors: the impact of a new connectivity’

Last October 22nd, the Observatorio Nacional 5G, an initiative promoted by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the Spanish Ministry of Economy and  Business through the Secretariat for Digital Advancement and Red.es, gathered the Spanish 5G ecosystem in its First Annual Forum to tackle the challenges and opportunities that this technology represents for both the economy and industry.

Rosa Paradell, Innovation Business Development manager at i2CAT was one of the members of the roundtable ‘5G in the economic sectors: the impact of a new connectivity’, moderated by AMETIC and composed by representatives of Anteverti, COIT and Grupo Bosch.

The event was attended by the Spanish Minister for Economy and  Business, Nadia Calviño, as well as Francisco Polo, Secretary of State for Digital Advancement; Federico Ruiz, director of the Observatorio Nacional 5G, and Carlos Grau, CEO of Mobile World Capital.

The Forum concluded that 83% of European H2020 projects on 5G have Spanish participation, which represents an investment of 56 million euro by the European Commission. The i2CAT Foundation is an active leader of the 5G revolution with 8 active 5G H2020 projects and a prominent role in the 5G Barcelona initiative and associated projects, which are positioning the Catalan capital as one of the main hubs for the validation and adoption of this novel technology in Europe.
