Lleida ON is based on the deployment of a commercial 5G network in Lleida and the creation of a Lab to impulse this Technology in Lleida’s Chamber of Commerce. The impact of the initiative will affect the economic and social community promoting innovation. The Area will include a 5G Lab to hold workshops, presentations, and pieces of training in intelligent networking. The 5G network will be reinforced with pilot tests and digital services of the latest generation.
Lleida ON aims to implant a 5G technology to allow the creation of digital services and an ecosystem that promotes solutions and services to achieve the sustainable digitalization of the territory. The 5G connectivity for this Area focuses on boosting the agri-food, commercial, and logistics sectors. Lleida is an ideal location to prove how 5G technology can help the economic and social development.
This project aligns itself with the 5G Area Terres de l’Ebre, which became the first 5G Area beyond the urban area.

To transform Catalonia into an international point of reference on 5G Technology, the Government of Catalonia, through the Ministry for Digital Policy, with MWCapital and the i2CAT Foundation, has developed the 5G Area. The objectives of this project are: improving the technological services around Catalonia, promote the commercial use of the 5G network and prompt its deployment, fostering use cases, and proof of concept in real environments.
The project aims to promote the digital economy beyond urban areas, developing new products and services based on 5G Technology.
