6GTWINROAD is an innovative research project led by i2CAT, designed to advance connected and autonomous mobility in urban, inter-urban, and highway environments. Through next-generation 6G technology and real-time digital twins, we’re transforming how vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and networks interact to create a safer and more efficient mobility ecosystem across varied road types.
This subproject studies the concept of Digital Twins, consisting of the virtual representation of a physical object. Specifically, in the field of V2X communications, a Digital Twin consists of a sophisticated tool for the evaluation of cooperative use cases (Day 3+), allowing the recreation of complex scenarios in which vehicles collaborate and cooperate with each other. Digital Twins require information from the real world to reproduce situations and analyse potential use cases in mobility scenarios related to urban and interurban environments.
