Elena Fernández is a Telecommunications Engineer with a bachelor's degree (2019) and a master's degree (2022) from UPC, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Signal Theory and Communications. She joined i2CAT in 2022 as part of the Space Comms research group to develop her doctoral work on hybrid (RF and optics) inter-satellite communication system. Previously, she worked at UPC NanoSat Lab, contributing to the implementation of an ESA simulator and the design of a CubeSat-based mission. Her research interest include inter-satellite (RF and optical) links, pointing systems between satellites, and satellite networks.
