Javier Fernandez

Javier Fernandez Hidalgo is a Senior Project Manager at the i2CAT Foundation, with over a decade of experience leading ICT research and innovation projects in the Software Networks Area. His work focuses on the development of intelligent service management and orchestration platforms for the Cloud-Edge Continuum, with expertise in SDN, NFV, virtualization, and automation.
Javier has successfully managed and delivered key contributions to several SNS JU and H2020 5G projects, including 6G-XR, Target-X, 5GZORRO, 5G ESSENCE, CHARISMA, and SONATA.
Before joining i2CAT, Javier spent 13 years at Nokia in Finland, where he held multiple roles such as Software Engineer at Nokia Networks, Project Manager at Nokia Ventures Organization, and Senior Project Manager for the Nokia MeeGo program. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain.
