Karla Trejo Ramirez

Karla Trejo is currently serving as the Head of AI Innovation at the i2CAT Foundation, leading innovation efforts within the Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) research group, focusing on Trustworthy AI (TAI) and Multimodal AI Perception (MAIP). She holds a PhD in Automatic Control, Robotics, and Computer Vision from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2020). Karla has over five years of experience in the private sector, working in consultancy and start-ups, where she led AI projects and technology development. Her interdisciplinary experience includes collaborations with esteemed institutions such as the Institut d’Investigació en Intel-ligència Artificial (IIIA-CSIC) and the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan. With a hybrid background in academia and industry, Dr. Trejo is committed to applied research and innovation, generating tangible impact in the territory.
