Dr. Muhammad Shuaib Siddiqui has 10+ years of experience working in the academic, research and industry of ICT sector. At present, he is a senior researcher at i2CAT Foundation where he is also the Area Director for Software Networks area and Research Director for the Cybersecurity & Blockchain area.

Since he joined i2CAT Foundation in 2015, he has been active in 5G related projects (under H2020 & Horizon Europe) on the topics of control, management, & orchestration platforms based on SDN/NFV, network slicing, and NFV/SDN and 5G security. He has successfully completed the H2020 5GZORRO (5G PPP Phase 3 project) as the Project Coordinator and H2020 5GCity (5G PPP Phase 2) project, as Deputy Project Coordinator. Currently, he is working as the Principal Investigator for UNICO 6GENABLERS project and as the Technical Manager of iTrust6G (H.E. SNS) project. In addition, he is supervising 5 doctoral students (2 in the SN area and 3 in the Cybersecurity area).

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) (Spain), M.Sc. in Communication Systems (2007) from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and B.Sc. in Computer Engineering (2004) from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He has given several talks at Mobile World Congress, Smart City Expo World Congress, SDN/NFV World Congress and other events. One of his publications, based on his PhD thesis, received the IEEE Internet Technical Committee (ITC) paper of the year award for 2015.
