Carlos Labella

Graduate in Electronic Engineering and Master in Electric Vehicle Technologies. Currently works as a senior hardware research engineer at the i2cat Foundation, in the Internet of Things (IoT) group. With previous experience in the research sector during collaboration with the Wireless Network Group (UPC), and with industrial sector experience after working at EGO Appliance Controls S.L.U as a Software Engineer. He specializes in the use of CAD tools for the design and manufacture of prototypes, the use of general programming environments for microcontrollers, FPGAs and embedded systems. Extensive experience in firmware development for microcontrollers with wireless connectivity such as the ESP32. He has worked as a principal investigator in the RIS3CAT SMARTSPACE project developing solutions based on ambient intelligence using sensors, as well as the use of AI for person detection. He has also actively participated in indoor localization projects and autonomous vehicle positioning.
