Jano Gil Lopez

Jano finished his Physics degree in 2015 and pursued a career towards experimental optics. This materialised in a master degree specialising on quantum optics in 2017 and a PhD thesis on integrated quantum optics in 2022. The is a strong quantum optics and photonics background, focusing in quantum communication/information science and photonic devices; ever targeted at the experimental realisation, from scratch, of involved optical setups.

Following the completion of his studies, he has taken responsability in different areas: R&D at Satellogic, an earth-observation startup, laser scientist at Radiantis, an ICFO spin-off, and photonic researcher at Quix Quantum, a German startup pursuing the quantum computing dream. After these adventures, he is very excited to join i2cat and assist the efforts for a quantum future from Barcelona.
