6GTWINROAD: SP3: 6G vehicle sensing technologies

6GTWINROAD is an innovative research project led by i2CAT, designed to advance connected and autonomous mobility in urban, inter-urban, and highway environments. Through next-generation 6G technology and real-time digital twins, we’re transforming how vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and networks interact to create a safer and more efficient mobility ecosystem across varied road types.

This subproject investigates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to:

1. Support the development of a digital twin of a road vehicle environment.
2. Demonstrate the sensing capability of 5G/6G technologies for object detection.
3. Integrate 5G/6G sensing technologies into realistic vehicle environments that make use of Cloud and Edge Computing technologies.
4. Contribute to the digital transformation of the automotive sector.
