6GTWINROAD is an innovative research project led by i2CAT, designed to advance connected and autonomous mobility in urban, inter-urban, and highway environments. Through next-generation 6G technology and real-time digital twins, we’re transforming how vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and networks interact to create a safer and more efficient mobility ecosystem across varied road types.
The objective of this subproject is to analyze the impact of 6G technologies on both current networks and Traffic Management Centers (TMC) to support new CCAM (Cooperative, connected and automated mobility) applications, which are strongly focused on cooperative behavior and that depend on strict latency and/or bandwidth network parameters. In addition, the evolution of vehicular communication technologies that will be considered in the 6G time frame is studied, helping to align and adapt future TMC centers to the requirements of the future V2X.
