Researcher
Ruggero Ragonesi holds a PhD in Machine Learning and Computer Vision, where his research focused on addressing dataset bias in deep neural networks, developing methods to remove unwanted information from internal model representations to improve generalization and privacy. Prior to joining i2CAT, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on applied computer vision solutions, including an automated out-of-stock detection system for the Italian retail chain COOP.
He currently works in i2CAT’s MediaTech team under the Media Processing group, where he focuses on software engineering for real-time, multicamera recording and processing. His primary technical interest lies at the intersection of deep learning and 3D computer graphics, aiming to reconstruct realistic 3D human representations. His project contributions include developing a 3D reconstruction web service for WP2 of the European XReco project, as well as contributing to Didymos, PRESENCE, and several Spanish national innovation initiatives.
