Senior R&D Engineer
Tomás Izquierdo holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Barcelona and a Master's degree in Innovation and Research in Informatics (Data Science) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He also completed a Master's degree in Industry 4.0 at the Universidad de La Rioja.
He is currently a Senior R&D Engineer at the i2CAT Foundation, where he develops advanced computer vision and spatial computing solutions for real-time AR/VR applications.
His work focuses on computer vision, deep learning, and distributed machine learning systems, with particular expertise in 3D perception, RGB-D sensor fusion, point cloud processing, and the deployment of state-of-the-art vision models. His research and engineering activities include the design of scalable MLOps infrastructures, real-time streaming systems, and high-performance AI pipelines for heterogeneous computing environments. He has also contributed to the deployment of end-to-end computer vision systems in real-world industrial and agricultural scenarios.
He has extensive experience in the development and deployment of production-grade AI systems, cloud-based machine learning services, and high-performance software using C++, Python, and modern distributed computing technologies.
