Junior R&D Engineer
Role and Responsibilities I am a Development Engineer at i2CAT, specializing in Unity, XR, and immersive technology integration. I develop applications and Proofs of Concept on top of HoloMIT, integrating holoportation, volumetric video, and other R&D technologies into functional demonstrators. I also take recurring responsibility for the end-to-end technical preparation of demos, including integration, testing and QA, hardware/software and network requirements, deployment, and validation.
Skills
Key Projects and Contributions I have contributed to the development and evolution of HoloMIT, including the refactoring and consolidation of passthrough and anchor systems. I am currently developing the HoloMIT Meta Integration SDK, an independent integration layer designed to incorporate native Meta capabilities into the HoloMIT ecosystem.
I have developed and integrated several Proofs of Concept on top of HoloMIT, including XR Tourism, presented at EuroXR 2025 and later evolved into XR Tourism 2.0, as well as demonstrators based on geolocation and real-time data visualization.
I also participate in the preparation and operation of technical demonstrations for research projects and events, taking responsibility for the integration, validation, and preparation of the required infrastructure.
Previous Experience Video game and interactive application developer, with a particular focus on scalable architectures, interaction systems, and immersive experiences.
Interests Immersive experiences, XR interaction, holoportation, volumetric technologies, emerging technology integration, and the development of modular and scalable XR solutions.
